huge list 📜 free online watching sites

from this list: https://www.androidauthority.com/free-movies-online-streaming-1099293/

I got to these sites (some are apps, but you can access them all online like you would a site. You still have to sign up for all but YouTube - howeverrrr, I've been using Peacock, Pluto TV, Tubi TV, and IMDb TV for like a year and love each of them for the different things they offer so I'd say it was worth downloading or at least using the resources they provide).

all links open in new tabs. Categorized list at very end of posty post

Hoopla (more like a library. Have to check things out, limited access, though having an account might open some stuff up idk)
IMDb TV (need an account, limited )
Internet Archive (like a library, but everything is free and completely downloadable because it's either public domain or personally uploaded. Very limited, mostly old b&w movies, but you can get some really good ones for free like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington - don't bother looking through their alphabetical list of movies, they're super random, old videos about inaugurations and little clips of random life or old movies no one has ever heard of.)
Kanopy (like Hoopla or Internet Archive, it's basically a library. Unlike Hoopla/Internet Archive, this is just movies. No books, no audiobooks, no podcasts. However, you do need a library card.)
Movies Found Online (somewhat limited library. Don't need an account/library card/subscription.)
Plex (pulls from other streaming sites - lists the place it's pulling from under the movie)
VRV (little to no movies, especially well-known. Mostly for anime)
Yidio (has zero watch free options, really just a glorified Wikipedia for movies)
YouTube Movies (limited to a lot of really dumb movies, a bunch of them dumb hallmark movies, at that. Not a wide variety, or a huge range in genre, but if you want a movie you've never seen before and probably never will again, check it out.)
Peacock (need an account before you watch anything, need to pay if you want to download or watch certain well-known movies/shows, has a watchlist and watch history, but interface is hard to navigate which makes it extremely hard to find watchlist/watch history bc it's nestled under "browse" under "featured" fsr)
ConTV (didn't ever load for me, just a black screen, but maybe it'll work for you?)
123Movies (just as good as Vumoo, and one that I've used for yeeaarrrss and still love. I always try this one first when I'm looking for a site that has a movie - it usually does, and has about one ad per click: click on the search bar, click on the movie, click play. Three ads, not much. Plus, also has a "rewind 10 seconds" that, if the movie is maximized, won't trigger an ad in an extra tab. You can also hit pause and unpause about four times before a new tab pops up with an ad which is way nicer than any other scam site I've ever used)
Netflix (they have a few movies for free, all you have to do is hit play, even if you don't have an account)
Solarmovie (the old site that actually works)
Yesmovies (interface is p much 123movies, but ads are like moviesonline)
moviesonline (a TON of ads and pop ups that will make you want to rip your hair out bc it's such a crap awful site but it's still an option, if only as a last resort)
MoviesJoy (some pop ups, not half as many as yesmovies or moviesonline, but a few more than 123movies)
Vumoo (love this one almost as much as 123movies, easy to use, abt as many ads as 123movies, and when you search something in the search bar, the movie will pop down so you can go directly to it instead of searching and then scrolling to find it. LOVE THAT. Even 123movies doesn't do that)
FMovies (movies start as soon as you click on them. Minimal pop ups, just when you click on a movie or when you pause a movie, like all of the scam sites. This is the fmovies that actually works. I have looked at like three "fmovies" and they all look the same but none of them worked. The one I'm linking to works as of while I'm writing this hahaha it probably won't work in six months but meh you have so many options right here who needs fmovies)
GoMovies (again, the one that works, bc there are two others out there that do NUTHIN. This one reminds me sm of moviesonline.sc, it's so scammy and has way too many pop ups that really deter me. I would never use this site except as a last resort, if none of the other links had the movie I wanted and ONLY gomovies did. Otherwise I'd ding dong ditch it, what a crappy site)
Amazon Prime free movies (they have a list, but you need to be a Prime member, which is basically paying for it, just extremely cheaply, and if you don't have a membership you can't watch it at all, even by renting.)

TIP: if you have ANY information saved on your computer (like a password to a site saved so it automatically remembers, or you have your credit card number saved on Amazon so you only have to click to buy something), you will want to install a VPN so you can a) stream movies even if they're blocked or banned and b) watch safely on the scam sites, without worrying that they'll steal any sensitive information. Your computer sends out the information and the scam site will eat you for lunch. Chromebooks are pretty safe against virus attacks because they're unable to run .exe files, which means most malware can't be installed. That doesn't mean they're 100% safe and secure against attacks, so make sure you download VPN just to be safe and cover all your bases. There are some extremely scary stories out there about people's lives being hacked, basically. Any one of these things could happen to you: identity theft, card theft, password theft, account theft, or (and this happened to someone I know) your computer automatically downloads a virus from them and they start deleting your files unless you pay them to get the files back. Basically, a ransom for the things you own.

  1. The Internet has opened up a whole new world of entertainment for people, and it has become an integral part of our culture. It's easy to forget that we used to have to physically go to the movie theater to see a film — but now, we can get movies online, whenever we want.

Online movies aren't just popular because they make us feel like we're living in an alternate reality or are exciting enough to keep us glued to our computer screens. They're also becoming a significant source of revenue for website owners, as more and more people turn to the web for their entertainment needs.
