RIP OceanofPDF 😒

Ugh, another website taken down because authors were complaining. Nah fam, if I were an author I would be fine with having my work up - because if it's actually good, people will want to have a handheld copy. At least, I do. I read all of the Queen's Thief series online and I'm hoping to buy it soon so you authors need to get the heck over it.

Anyway ok. I saw the comments you guys had left and I was surprised, so I clicked on the link and... ?? DUDE WHERE THAT SITE AT THO?? You guys were right, totally gone.

So I went searching since maybe it was my computer or your computer or something other than gone - and I got a reddit thread, top link. If you don't want to go read all of it, I'll spare you the sob story and cut to the chase: yeah, it's gone. All gone.

Authors apparently complained, it's rumored that there may be legal trouble, and neither email is working (one says it's not an email address anymore, and one says it didn't send). The guy usually replies to emails but not this time. Most people are sad because where they live books are expensive, but some are sad because they're penny pinchers (that would be me - also I like reading the book and deciding whether it's worth my money or not before I buy it, that too).

You can read about the authors' uproar over the website right here. It's actually kind of sad, because it sounds like the four people who worked on oceanofpdf worked really hard and actually put effort into it, typing it out by hand! Hopefully they can be back up in another place pretty soon. πŸ™ This is telling me I should probably save all my work in case this one gets pulled down, too - not like anyone notices a blogger blog but I'm still worried now... πŸ˜‹ (no but really, should I...?)

So if books are expensive or inaccessible where you live, I'd suggest this website since it seems above-board and also in alliance with authors. Warning, it's a little bit confusing to navigate. If you need help, leave a comment/email me. I hope you don't tho because I haven't done it in a while.

But try not to be too open about using that site because I don't want THEM disappearing too, good grief.
